A bathroom can look dated, lack useful storage or no longer suit the people using it. Before choosing tile and fixtures, it helps to understand what needs to change in the room and whether you want to keep the existing layout.
TriBuild Management works with homeowners on bathroom renovations. Based in North Vancouver, we can discuss your existing bathroom, your priorities and the scope of the proposed work.
Discuss Your Bathroom Renovation
Begin with how the bathroom needs to function
Tell us who uses the bathroom and what is not working well. You may be thinking about the bathing area, vanity, storage or finishes. If a change to the layout is part of the plan, include it from the start.
A bathroom renovation involves more than selecting visible finishes. The existing conditions and any work behind those finishes need to be considered when defining the project. Photos help explain the room, but they may not reveal everything that needs attention.
Information to bring to the first discussion
- Photos of the current bathroom and approximate dimensions.
- Whether you want to retain or change the layout.
- Fixtures and finishes you are considering.
- Storage needs and day-to-day problems you want to address.
- Any known leaks, damage or previous alterations.
- Whether another bathroom will be available during the work.
- Items you intend to supply yourself.
If there is an existing problem, tell us what you have noticed and include a photograph where useful. That gives us a better starting point for discussing the work.
Choose the right renovation, not just the finish
A new surround and a custom-tiled shower need different preparation. We can define the demolition, backing and waterproofing requirements for the chosen system, then coordinate tile or surround installation with the plumbing work, shower glass, mirrors, trim and painting. Where several bathrooms are involved, phased work can be considered to reduce disruption.
Bathroom renovation questions
Can I change a bathtub to a shower?
Tell us about the change you have in mind and send photos of the existing bathing area. Layout, existing conditions and the work involved need to be reviewed before confirming the scope.
Can I renovate just one bathroom?
Yes. Let us know which bathroom is involved and whether you are considering other rooms as well. We can discuss the bathroom as a separate project.
Can you price the work from a photograph?
Photos are a useful starting point, but may not show dimensions, concealed conditions or the full scope. Include your planned changes and any drawings or selections so we can identify what else is needed.
Tell us about your bathroom
Send the property location, current photos and a short description of what you want to improve. Include your preferred timing and any known restrictions.
